The Ghana Education Service’s management has posted the updated SHS Academic Calendar PDF here. In order for SHS 3 students to attend class continuously from January 2023 to the end of September 2023, when the WASSCE concludes, the calendar will need to be adjusted.
Two (2) of the three (3) year groups in the transitional option must be enrolled in a class at any given moment.
The Free Senior High School Program, which called for a temporary fix, has led to an increase in enrollment at colleges of education. Teachers will have a break thanks to the academic calendar for 2023.

- Students in Form 2 will attend school for 33 weeks, or 166 days, for a total of up to 1,320 contact hours.
- The Form 1 pupil will attend the class for up to 1,080 contact hours over the course of 27 weeks or 137 days.
- Contact hours for the SHS Single Track Academic Calendar Students in Form 3 will attend school for 34 weeks, totalling 1,360 contact hours.
- The Form 2 pupils will attend school for 34 weeks, totalling 1,360 contact hours.
