SHS Single-Track Official Academic Calendar for 2023: The Ghana Education Service (GES) announces to the general public, particularly parents, teachers, and pupils/students, the approved SHS Single-Track Official Academic Calendar by the Hon. Minister for Education based on the Ministerial Committee on School Calendar is as follows:
Official Academic Calendar for SHS Double-Track in 2023
This calendar includes the reopening date, vacation date, mid-semester break, and other breaks.
SHS 3 will not be able to take a long break due to the start of the calendar in January 2023. This is to allow SHS 1 and SHS 2 to attend classes as well.
This means that the calendar will need to be adjusted so that SHS 3 students can attend class continuously from January 2023 until the end of the WASSCE in September 2023.
Two (2) of the three (3) year groups must be present at any given time in the transitional option.
Furthermore, the Colleges of Education have seen an increase in school enrollment as a result of the Free Senior High School program, which necessitated quick solutions.
Finally, the 2023 calendar provides a break for teachers.
