Fully Funded Scholarship from Manaaki New Zealand for Developing Countries

The Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship is open to scholars from developing countries all over the world who want to study at a college or university in New Zealand.

Tuition, medical insurance, travel expenses, and other learning and living aids will be provided to successful students. Applications are being accepted through the end of February.

The New Zealand Government provides scholarships to eligible citizens of developing countries who wish to study at an Education Institution or a Pacific University in New Zealand. Scholars from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Pacific are encouraged to apply.

Climate Change and Resilience (Renewable Energy, Food Security, and Agriculture) and Good Governance are recommended research topics.

Award Benefits

The Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship provides scholars with the following benefits:

  • Tuition is paid in full.
  • A weekly living allowance stipend of NZ$531 is provided.
  • A NZ$3,000 establishment allowance is provided.
  • Medical coverage.
  • Tutoring can cost up to $1,000 NZD.
  • travel expenses to and from the scholar’s home country.
  • Insurance for travel.
  • During the scholarship, you may travel home for vacation.
  • managed quarantine and isolation (MIQ).
  • reimbursement for COVID-19-related expenses.
  • NZ$1,000 reintegration allowance to assist with set-up costs upon return to home country.

Criteria for Eligibility

The following requirements must be satisfied by candidates in order to be eligible for Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships for Developing Countries:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old when the scholarship program begins.
  • Both the academic entry standards and the English language requirements set by each educational institution must be satisfied by successful scholarship applicants.
  • candidates for postgraduate programs and those who graduated from high school more than three years ago must have appropriate work experience, which can include:
  • two years of part-time work experience OR one year of full-time work (defined as 30 hours or more per week) (i.e. 29 hours per week).

Application Method

Online applications are accepted for scholarship awards from citizens of eligible countries who wish to study in New Zealand. Feb. 28 is the deadline for submissions.
