About United Nations Graduate Study Programme in Switzerland

The upcoming 61st Graduate Study Programme is packed with enriching activities such as lectures, visits to institutions, and group projects. These activities will be conducted by experienced personnel from the United Nations, other international organizations, and NGOs.

The theme for the 61st Graduate Study Programme is “All Rights for All People”: Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 75″. In the first week of the programme, participants will gain an insight into a wide range of essential topics, including sustainable development, humanitarian action, disarmament, peace and security, trade, climate, health, gender equality, education, refugees, and migrants. The second week will focus primarily on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), exploring its significance and relevance in today’s world.

Requirements for United Nations Graduate Study Programme in Switzerland

The United Nations Graduate Study Programme has specific eligibility criteria that applicants must meet to be considered:

  • Applicants must be between the ages of 22 and 32 at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a master’s degree, postgraduate degree, or doctorate programme at the time of application and provide proof of enrolment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is necessary, and knowledge of French is recommended as some discussions may be conducted in French.
  • Applicants who are already employed full-time are not eligible to apply.
  • Individuals who have previously participated in the programme are not eligible to apply for this edition.

 

Steps to Apply for United Nations Graduate Study Programme in Switzerland

If you are interested in taking part in the United Nations Graduate Program, you need to follow these steps to apply:

  1. Complete the online application form and submit it.
  2. Submit the following documents with your application form:
    • A copy of your passport
    • A letter of recommendation in English or French from a university or governmental authority
    • Proof of current enrollment in a master’s degree, postgraduate degree, or doctorate program
    • Copies of your previous university diplomas
    • A curriculum vitae
    • A short motivation letter of no more than 300 words.
