About BETD Media Fellowship
The German Government is offering a unique opportunity for aspiring media professionals to report on the energy transition. The BETD Media Fellowship is your chance to be part of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, the leading international forum on the green energy transformation. The BETD, which will be held on 28-29 March 2023, brings together high-level participants from politics, industry, science, and civil society to discuss the shift towards a sustainable energy system.
As a BETD Media Fellow, you will have exclusive access to this inspiring conference and the opportunity to connect with high-level stakeholders from various fields. This fellowship is open to young journalists from around the world, who will gather in Berlin for two days to participate in the traditional on-site conference and engage in discussions with other BETD Media Fellows. Please note that the BETD Media Fellowship was held as a hybrid conference with limited access in 2022, but this year’s dialogue is planned to be held as a traditional on-site conference with a public stream of the ongoing program.

Sponsor and Goal of the Fellowship
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, in collaboration with Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energie (BEE) e.V. and on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office, is sponsoring the BETD Media Fellowship.

Requirements for BETD Media Fellowship
To be eligible for the BETD Media Fellowship, you must meet the following criteria:
- You should be an aspiring media professional, such as a journalist, influencer, blogger, podcaster, or someone in a related professional field, who reports on the global energy transition.
- You must be fluent in English and able to provide examples of your work that showcase your journalistic abilities and interest in the energy transition.
- You should also check the current Covid-19 travel restrictions and confirm that you meet all the conditions to travel to Germany.
