Ghana Football Association (GFA) in Partnership With Moroccan Counterparts

African football  has over the years seen many advancements in not only the Men’s game but the female and youth games too. the rise of African football was witnessed at the ended Qatar 2022 world cup when the Moroccan team finished 4th place by eliminating European heavyweights Portugal.  The transfer fees and valuations of African players has also risen due to thier good performances.

In quest to continue the development and rise of African dominance in World football, The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Royal Moroccan Football Association (FRMF) are partners in ongoing football development projects, according to Mr. Omar Khyari, advisor to the FRMF president.

He made this statement while touring Morocco’s national stadiums, which featured the $65.4 million Mohammed VI Football Complex and other youth soccer facilities as part of the country’s 2025 bid for the African Cup of Nations.

The Atlas Lions’ recent presence in the 2022 World Cup semifinals in Qatar is one of Morocco’s most notable recent achievements in men’s and women’s football.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Mr. Khyari stated that these accomplishments were a part of a long-term strategy for member collaboration on a global scale. The astute football executive claimed that because they regularly collaborated with the GFA on numerous football initiatives, their relationship with Ghana was among the finest on the continent.

He stated that; “Two years ago, our FA signed an agreement with GFA President Kurt Okraku in various areas of development. Our partnership with Ghana is one of the best on the continent. “We have played friendly matches among various national teams, and we have received the youth teams here in Morocco to use our football facilities, and we have also been to Ghana, a couple of times, so you can see the smooth relationship we have with the GFA.”

He continued by adding that the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI (May God assist him), presented his vision for international cooperation with member associations in 2017 in a win-win approach. “So in this context, we are working closely with the GFA in a win-win approach that would see our football develop through the sharing of ideas, and we are going to continue,” he said.

He also mentioned that Morocco will be hosting a GFA member in order to organize additional friendlies and to improve the organization with fresh development ideas.
