Didi Dramani and George Boateng Retained by GFA as Assistant Coaches for Black Stars

The Ghana Football Association has revealed its new technical team for the Black Stars, with Chris Hughton named as the head coach, and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and George Boateng continuing on as assistant coaches.

Sunday saw the announcement that Hughton will step in for Coach Otto Addo, who recently resigned from his position after leading the Black Stars to a successful group stage appearance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Coach Addo will now move on to work as a talent development coach for Borussia Dortmund.

Chris Hughton had served as a technical advisor for the Black Stars during the World Cup play-off against Nigeria and was part of the team during the tournament in Qatar. Meanwhile, Didi Dramani and George Boateng were assistants to Coach Addo during the same play-off and World Cup tournament.

The GFA website shared a statement saying, “The Ghana Football Association is pleased to appoint Chris Hughton as the head coach of the Black Stars, following careful consideration by both parties. This appointment aligns with the GFA’s vision to continue the development of a strong squad, following the groundwork laid by Coach Addo leading up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
