If you are one of the candidates who recently took the 2022 BECE exam, you might want to read this piece all the way through.
Over 547,329 junior high school students took the exam this year, and 872 SHS across the nation must now accept them. The Ghana Education Service has so created a method for enrolling qualified children in SHS.
Computerized School Selection and Placement System is the name for this (CSSPS). The Automated Placement System (APS) and Self Placement are the two placement options available under this system.
All Ghanaian students that participated in the BECE Test provided data, which was collected by the CSSPS placement and combined into a ranking list.
The method bases its decision on the candidate’s overall score across six subjects. Consequently, the three finest electives are English Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Integrated Science.
Assuming control, the automatic placement system enrolls children in the secondary school of their choosing. This placement is based on the programs and housing openings at different senior high schools, but most significantly on how well the pupils performed on the exams.
Self-placement: What Is It?
Self-placement is the manual procedure that gives applicants who don’t get their first choice of schools the chance to choose from the available schools with openings. You must first have an e-voucher from one of the authorized merchants in order to self-place.
NOTICE: Once the CSSPS portal is activated, e-vouchers can only be purchased and used an unlimited number of times by a single student. Each e-voucher costs 12GHC.
Applicants for the BECE in 2022: SHS Placement: Self Placement Procedures
Go to www.cssps.org or www.cssps.gov.gh to access the CSSPS website.
To proceed, click the check placement button on the page.
Click on proceed after entering your e-voucher PIN and Index Number (i.e. following a successful purchase in the previous steps).
Based on the requirements of the school, select your preferred school and kind of residence (day/boarding).
Click confirm, then print the changes.
