School placement for 2023 has not yet been disclosed. To start their senior high school education, it is crucial for 2022 BECE graduates to be aware of the precise date on which the admissions process for various senior high schools will start.

Prospective SHS 1 pupil are expected to be in class on February 20, 2023, per the recently amended senior high school academic calendar. The schools where these pupils will be enrolled have not yet been disclosed.

When Exactly Will 2022 BECE Graduates Attend SHS?, Per The Academic Calendar

However, if the release date for the school placement is delayed, it is possible that the date will alter. The public will have access to the school placement list by the end of February, the Ghana Education Service reports. This demonstrates unequivocally that if the placement is delayed, it might not be viable to admit students on February 20.

The Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education have already warned the public to stay away from anyone who claims to be able to modify the schools that BECE graduates attend.

The release of the senior high school placement list is scheduled for February. Thus, BECE graduates are urged to wait for their placement and enroll in the SHS where they will be assigned.

Based on the overall score each student received in their BECE results, the school placement will be determined.

Will the double-track system be used for school placement in 2023?

The double-track system, which was implemented in 2018 to meet the growth in the number of Junior High School students enrolled in Senior High Schools, will not be used for first-year Senior High School students for the 2023–2024 academic year.

Students in SHS 1 will attend class together. There won’t be any division among them like there was a few years ago.

The Ministry of Education claims that sufficient measures have been taken to make sure that schools can accommodate first-year students.
