Online Registration Process for New Students at MOUAU for 2022/2023 Academic Session

Attention all new students admitted to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) for the 2022/2023 session!

The school management has released the registration/clearance procedure, and we encourage you to follow the steps outlined below to complete your registration and begin your academic journey at MOUAU.

 

As a new student, there are several important steps you must follow in order to complete your registration. These steps include:

  1. Print your acceptance letter and accept your admission offer.
  2. Pay your acceptance fee.
  3. Visit your department to obtain the Departmental Clearance form.
  4. Bring the form to the Admissions Office in Room 126 for signing and stamping.
  5. Pay for your accommodation.
  6. Pay your school fees/charges.
  7. Complete the Biodata form, which will generate your matriculation number.
  8. Register for your courses online.
  9. Follow the Identity Card procedure.
  10. Collect your Class Admit card.

It is essential that you complete all of these steps in a timely manner in order to ensure a smooth registration process.

 

Instructions for Paying MOUAU Acceptance Fee

To pay your acceptance fee at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), follow these steps:

  1. Visit either mouau.edu.ng or mouauportal.edu.ng.
  2. Click on “Check your admission status.”
  3. If you have been offered admission, the admission letter will appear and you need to print it.
  4. Click on “Accept Admission” at the bottom of the page.
  5. Once admission is accepted, you will be required to print out a pledge form.
  6. The system will then lead you to the Acceptance Fees screen.
  7. To pay using Remita, your details will be displayed on the Acceptance fees platform.
  8. Click on the drop-down menu labelled “Pay/paid via” and select “Remita Payment Gateway”.
  9. Click on the “Submit” button.
  10. The Remita link will be displayed, click on the “Make Payment” button.
  11. The Remita payment secured platform will show up with your details displayed.
  12. Select either “Internet Banking,” “Master Card,” or “Visa” to proceed.
  13. If paying with internet banking, select your bank and click on the “Submit” button.
  14. A payment invoice will be generated which contains the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
  15. Click on the “proceed to Internet Bank” option at the bottom right of the payment invoice, sign in with your existing bank details, and proceed to make payment.
  16. A payment receipt will be sent to your registered email address.
  17. If you are paying at a local bank branch, select “ANY Bank” and click on the “Submit” button.
  18. A payment invoice will be generated which contains the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
  19. Click on the “Print Invoice” option at the bottom right of the payment invoice, print it, and proceed to any bank for payment.
  20. After payment, a receipt will be issued to you at the bank.
  21. If paying via ATM card, select either “Master” or “VISA” cards and enter card details.
  22. A payment receipt will be sent to your registered email address.

Please note: If you are paying online (internet banking or via ATM cards), make sure you print out your payment receipt for future reference.

 

MOUAU Departmental Clearance: Required Documents

To be cleared by your department after paying the acceptance fee, you must present the following credentials:

  • Original copies of your education qualifications (certificates or statement of results)
  • Six passport size photographs
  • Birth certificate or age declaration
  • A letter of attestation from your parent or guardian, certifying your good behavior
  • Certificate of local government of origin
  • Original JAMB UTME result slip
  • Original JAMB admission letter

After your screening, the departmental officer will sign and issue you a Departmental Clearance form. You must then proceed to the Admissions Office in Room 126 for the form to be signed and stamped. Once this is done, you should visit the Portal Office for online clearance using the approved documents. Then you can access the Accommodation platform to pay for your accommodation.

If you want to apply for hostel accommodation at MOUAU, follow these steps:

  • Once you’ve paid your fees, the system will redirect you to pay for accommodation
  • After payment, go to the Dean of Students’ Affairs Office to get allocated a bed space.
  • If there’s any delay in getting an allocation, report back to the Admissions Office.
  • Payment procedure is the same as acceptance fees payment. If you paid at the local bank branch, return to the Portal and click on Student admission process—>Application Process-Regular—>PUTME. Enter your JAMB number and the system will lead you to the registration process stage you stopped at.
  • If you’re a Direct Entry candidate, click on Student admission process—>Application Process-Regular—>Direct Entry. Enter your JAMB number and the system will lead you to the stage you stopped at.

 

How to Obtain MOUAU Matriculation Number

  • To obtain a Matriculation Number and register for courses, students must complete a Biodata form. This form will auto-generate a unique Matriculation Number for the student.
  • After completing the Biodata form, students must collect the original copy of their school fees receipt from the Department. This receipt must then be presented to the ID card Unit to capture and collect the School ID card.

Note that; Students will be required to create a username and password when filling out the Biodata Form. These details should be kept safe and secure, as they will be used to access the personalized section of the portal.

The registration process runs for the entire first semester. Any student who does not complete their registration before the commencement of first semester exams will be defaulted. To proceed to the next stage, the student will need to pay a late registration fee at the Bursary Unit.

 

Obtaining MOUAU ID Card

To obtain an MOUAU identity card, a student must first collect the original school fees receipt from the College/Department’s accountant. Once the receipt is in hand, the student can visit the portal office with the receipt and a passport photograph to have their identity card captured. It is essential to keep in mind that having an identity card makes one a bona fide student of the University.

 

Class Admit Cards

To attend lectures and sit for examinations, students who have registered for their courses must obtain Class Admit Cards from their Heads of Departments. It’s important to note that any student who has not paid their school fees before the end of the second-semester exams will forfeit their admission and will no longer be a student of the university.
