CETAG: Teachers Resume Suspended Strike Action

By | 14 February 2023

After the Minister of Education, Dr. Osei Adutwum, broke his word, the leadership of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana, CETAG, has restarted their postponed industrial strike action.

CETAG resumed strike action after a brief break

CETAG Council wishes to inform all members to abide by the decision we made on December 14th, 2022, to put a two-week moratorium on our strike action.

Members should be aware that improving our treatment by the employer will only be possible if we all work together to defend the rightful Conditions of Service (CoS), which will expire in 2023.

The National Council wishes to inform all members that the Hon. Minister of Education will address all outstanding concerns of CETAG within two weeks in accordance with the decision made by the rank and file to suspend our strike action.

Finally, Council would like to let the members know that because CETAG has been patient with the employer for far too long, we are unable to accept any further foot-dragging about our CoS, which expires in 2023.
