The leadership of the Ghana Teachers Association Association of Colleges of Education and the Ghana Association of Non-Teaching Colleges of Education has mobilized the Ministry of Education over the industrial strike announced by the two unions.

The Union of Education Colleges and Non-Teaching Personnel has announced an industrial strike on November 14, 2022 demanding better service conditions from the government.

Since that date, the academic activities of all the faculties of education have stopped and are awaiting a response from the government to address their claims.

Update On Colleges Of Education Teaching And Non-Teaching Staff Association Strike

    • CETAG and CENTSAG were allowed to brief the Hon. Minister on the concerns which have led to the strike action.
    • At the meeting, Hon. Minister informed the house that he called the meeting to get better clarification on CETAG and CENTSAG concerns and to appeal to us to call off our strike for him to intervene to resolve our outstanding issues.

He said that he is not responsible for a negotiation meeting that he is chairing, so CETAG and CENTSAG must agree to do so.

The minister again asked the leadership to stop the strike to allow the legal obligation to solve the problems that we lack.
