By | 16 June 2023

The working exam schedule for Level 300 and Level 200 trainees has been made public by the University of Education Winneba (UEW) following the one-month-long industrial strike by CETAG.

CETAG announced an industrial strike on November 11, 2022, and it took them more than a month to reach a partial agreement with the government.

In an official letter signed by Dr. Samuel O. Hekoe, Director of ITECPD at the University of Winneba (UEW), the revised exam calendar for both levels (300 and 200) was announced.

It will be remembered that the semester was disrupted near the end of the 2022 academic year by a nationwide CETAG industrial action on November 11, 2022.

As a result of the foregoing, assessment activities on campus were reduced, resulting in the suspension of the end-of-semester examinations for Levels 200 and 300.

SCHEDULED ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES AND DATES

  • On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, both Level 300 and Level 200 teacher trainees will report to campus.
  • Lectures will begin for both levels on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, and will run through Saturday, January 14th, 2023.
  • Level 200 teacher trainees will begin their End of 2nd Semester Exams on Monday, January 16th, 2023 and will end on Saturday, January 21st, 2023.
  • Level 300 trainees will begin their End of 2nd Semester Examination on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 and will end on Saturday, January 28th, 2023.

According to the calendar, the first semester of 2023 will begin on Monday, January 30th, 2023. In the letter, the director of ITECPD informed trainees of the fee increase.
“The examination fees payable by students of Colleges of Education have been increased by 15% beginning with the 2023 academic year, in accordance with government policy,” he said.
