Future Matters scholarship

The NN Future Matters Scholarship and Coaching Programme is an incredible opportunity for young individuals in European countries who have aspirations of pursuing a master’s degree in the Netherlands. Our aim is to assist students in their professional growth and development. We are excited to offer selected students a financial award of €5,000 or €20,000 (for students from Japan and Turkey) and pair them with an experienced NN mentor for valuable coaching during their academic journey.

Scholarship Overview

At NN, we believe in empowering young people and providing them with opportunities to develop their economic skills. That’s why we’re proud to offer a scholarship that includes a mentorship and a €5,000 grant (with the exception of students from Turkey and Japan*).

To be eligible, you must be the first in your family to attend university, seeking financial support for your studies, and studying a master’s program in the Netherlands within one of the following fields: finance, risk management, economics, data science, entrepreneurship, IT, communications, or human resources.

Scholarship Value

The NN Future Matters scholarship offers not just financial support, but also a valuable mentorship opportunity to the selected students. The scholarship amount is €5,000 for most of the eligible countries, while students from Turkey and Japan can receive up to a maximum of €20,000.

Requirements for Application

To be eligible to apply for the NN Future Matters scholarship take note of the following:

  • Eligible candidates for the NN Future Matters Scholarship and Mentorship Program must hail from Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, or Turkey.
  • To be considered, you must be enrolled in a full-time master’s program in finance, risk management, economics, data science, entrepreneurship, IT, communications, or human resources at a participating Dutch research university, starting in September 2023-2024.
  • You must also be a first-generation university student, i.e., your parents or guardians do not have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and demonstrate financial need.
  • you must meet the admission requirements of the institution you have chosen.
  • When applying for a two-year master’s program, please keep in mind that the scholarship application is only valid for the first year.
  • you may apply for a scholarship for the second year if you have received a scholarship for the first year.

Application instructions and participating universities

In order to apply for the NN Future Matters scholarship, applicants must submit their application through the online application system (Delta) available on the NN website.

  • Before beginning your online application for the NN Future Matters scholarship, be sure to gather all required information and documents. Keep in mind that the application must be completed in one sitting and cannot be saved for later completion. Incomplete applications will not be considered, so be sure to have all necessary information at hand.
  • Only one application is allowed, so if you are considering more than 2 study programs, list them in the remarks section of the application. Multiple applications will result in only the most recent one being considered, with all others being disregarded.

Each document has to be in PDF format and not exceed 5 MB, merge your motivation letter, budget and CV into 1 document and merge the two(2) reference letters into 1 document.
