The Lagos State University (LASU) has cautioned students seeking admission into the institution to be on the lookout for fraudsters attempting to swindle them. In a press release by its Coordinator, Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations, Ademola Adekoya via Twitter, LASU advised prospective students to be vigilant.

The release, titled ‘LASU is yet to commence 2022/2023 admission exercise’, stated that the institution has not started its admission activities for the 2022/2023 session, which some scammers have been exploiting to defraud unsuspecting students and their guardians.

In a tweet, the university said, “The University has been receiving inquiries from eager admission seekers and parents about the commencement of the 2022/2023 admission exercise. We have also observed that some unscrupulous elements are taking advantage of the desperation of some admission seekers to defraud them.”

LASU reiterated that it has not commenced admission exercise for the 2022/2023 academic session and advised prospective students, parents, and the general public to disregard any contrary information.

The university assured that it would duly inform the public whenever the admission process commences through its official website: http://lasu.edu.ng and official social media channels.
