The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis’ more than 30 masquerading clubs appear to intensify the holiday spirit with a street carnival set to brass band music, singing, dancing, and physical feats.

The event was attended by dignitaries such as Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, Western Regional Member of the Council of State, Madam Eunice Buah, CEO of SKYY Power Media and former DCE of Wassa-East, Mr. Wilson Arthur, and others.

He urged the masquerading clubs to demonstrate their innate dancing abilities so that the rest of the nation would know that the West had the best. Speaking to the media, Mr. Fiffii Buckman, the club’s executive secretary, stated that the organization had 850 members and was 38 years old.

Speaking to journalists during the festival, Western Regional Minister Mr. Darko-Mensah, who electrified the audience with a dexterous anchor dance performance, reaffirmed that the Western Regional Coordinating Council would give the masquerading clubs the support they need to become well-known internationally and draw potential tourists to the Western Region.

He claimed that the club was prepared to deliver an outstanding performance at a dance group and gymnastics competition known as “Anchors” and also known as “Takoradi Bronya.”

Madam Elizabeth Boateng, president of the Classic Ladies Club, stated that the organization had been helping disadvantaged people in society for five years and would keep doing so.

Anchors, an annual dance festival held by the Takoradi people, is a unique dance with gymnastic displays that enthralls the audience while luring them into a trance.
