In a show of support for quality healthcare, Mr. Godwin Kwame Dadzawa, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for South Dayi, has donated essential health equipment to the Peki Government Hospital in the Volta Region. The items presented to the hospital include a washing machine, suction machines, television sets and streetlights. The equipment is expected to improve the effectiveness of healthcare services as well as enhance security within the facility.

After presenting the equipment, Mr. Dadzawa emphasized the crucial role of quality healthcare in human resource capacity building, as healthy citizens are more productive and contribute positively to socio-economic development. He urged the hospital authorities to use the equipment appropriately to achieve the intended benefits and to ensure proper maintenance.

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Daniel Okyere Koranteng, expressed gratitude to Mr. Dadzawa for the timely gesture, highlighting that the hospital had been facing operational challenges due to the breakdown of the washing and suction machines.

The absence of a functional X-ray machine meant that clients had to be referred to Ho for X-ray services. Dr Koranteng appealed to the government, well-meaning individuals and organizations to support the facility with a digital X-ray machine to facilitate its work.
