The University of Chicago’s Graduate Fellowship Program invites students from around the world to commit to a full academic year of study in the USA. The selected fellows will receive complete funding for their studies.
The fellows are expected to share their unique perspectives and interests with the UChicago International House community and actively participate in various activities for graduate students offered through the Graduate Commons Program throughout the year.
The program includes a range of events such as internationally-focused public programs through the Global Voices Performing Arts and Lecture Series, weekly language and culture tables with related dining activities, opportunities for professional development, health and wellness programs, social events, and much more.

Qualifications Requirements For University of Chicago Graduate Fellowship Program
The University of Chicago Graduate Fellowship Program seeks applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Graduate students enrolled in the full academic year.
- Demonstrated capacity for leadership, active engagement in university and community organizations, and participation in diverse extracurricular pursuits such as performing arts, athletics, and cultural activities, as well as involvement in community service and efforts to promote diversity.
- Graduate Fellows must maintain good academic standing and adhere to all International House and University of Chicago policies and regulations.
- Graduate Fellows are expected to remain involved in the International House community and must submit a quarterly statement outlining their participation.
Steps to Apply for University of Chicago Graduate Fellowship Program
To apply for the University of Chicago Graduate Fellowship, interested applicants must first apply and be accepted into a graduate program at the institution.
- After being accepted, eligible candidates should fill out the Application Form and send it to International House via email at [email protected].
- To ensure the proper handling of your application, please use your uchicago.edu email address and include your name and page number on each page of your application materials.
- In case you haven’t received your uchicago.edu email address yet, you will need to provide evidence of your acceptance into the University of Chicago program.
Here are the deadlines for submitting your application:
- March 17 at 5pm CST for a decision by March 31
- April 21 at 5pm CST for a decision by May 5
- June 16 at 5pm CST for a decision by June 30.
