Fully Funded Scholarship Program of the Government of Romania

Applications are presently being accepted for the  Scholarship Program of the Government of Romania for international students. You have the opportunity to apply if you want to study in Romania on a full scholarship.

You can apply for these scholarships as an international student from any country in the world (except from those that are EU members). Application updates yearly and is available till March.

Scholarship Description

the H.G. 288/1993-based scholarship program made available to foreign nationals by the Romanian government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For undergraduate and graduate study, the scholarships are available to citizens of other nations that are not EU members. See the schedule, methodology, and list of participating universities.

Award Worth

The Government of Romania Scholarships received, including any necessary preparatory year, include:

  1. funding for tuition;
  2. supporting the costs associated with housing in the dorms through the Ministry of Education and Research’s budget, up to the amount of the subsidy designated for this purpose (accommodation will be supplied to the extent that spaces are available);
  3. providing undergraduate students with the following financial aid each month: 65 EUR in place of that amount;
  4. 75 Euros in lei, which is the equivalent in dollars for master’s and specialty students, and 85 Euros in lei, which is the equivalent in dollars for PhD students.

Criteria for Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for Government of Romania Scholarships:

  1. submit the entire file;
  2. present study documents issued by accredited/recognized educational institutions in the country from which they were issued
  3. adhere to the enrollment deadline;
  4. have good educational results, i.e. an average of the study years for the last graduated school of at least 7 (seven) corresponding to the Romanian scoring system or the “Good” score, as the case may be;
  5. Follow the application submission procedure.
  6. Non-EU citizens are eligible for the scholarships.
