The application period for the Government of Romania Scholarships Program for international students is currently open.

You have the opportunity to apply if you want to receive a full scholarship to study in Romania.

You can apply for these scholarships as a foreign student from anywhere in the world (apart from EU member nations). Application is available through March and is revised annually.

The Educational Scholarship Description

the H.G. 288/1993-based scholarship program made available to foreign nationals by the Romanian government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For undergraduate and graduate study, the scholarships are available to citizens of other nations that are not EU members.

Scholarship Value

  1. funding for tuition
  2. supporting the costs of lodging in the dorms through the Ministry of Education and Research’s budget, up to the amount of the subsidy designated for this purpose (accommodation will be provided to the extent of available places)
  3. Giving the following financial aid each month: for undergraduate students, the equivalent in lei of 65 EUR; for master’s and specialized students, the equivalent in lei of 75 EUR; and for PhD students, the equivalent in lei of 85 EUR.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Those who wish to apply for Government of Romania Scholarships must:

  1. submit a whole file
  2. display academic records from accredited or recognized educational institutions in the nation where they were issued.
  3. keep the enrollment deadline.
  4. have good academic performance, or an average of the study years for the most recent school you graduated from of at least 7 (seven), which corresponds to the Romanian scoring system or the “Good” score, as the case may be.
  5. obey the procedures for submitting applications.
  6. Non-EU nationals are eligible for the scholarships.
