- Prussia: was a German kingdom that lasted from the 1700s through the end of World War I. During the war, the kingdom was disbanded, and the lands were divided between the Soviet Union, Poland, and Germany.
- Sikkim: A little monarchy in the Himalayas that existed until 1975, when India seized it.
- Rhodesia: From 1965 to 1979, a self-declared republic in southern Africa. After attaining freedom from British colonial domination, it was called Zimbabwe.
