Ato Panford, a former Shama MP, has died.

Ato Panford, a former member of parliament for the New Patriotic Party representing the Shama district in the Western Region, has passed away.

In addition, Ato Panford served as the deputy trade minister under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-first Addo’s term. On February 12, 2023, early on Sunday, the former MP passed away.

Oketakyire Amankwa Afrifa, the NPP’s Western Regional Secretary, verified this in a statement to Citi News.

Tribute to Ato Panford

Alan Kyerematen, the former minister for trade and industry, has expressed sympathy to his family and the party as a whole.

He stated on Facebook: “I have received with sadness the passing of my very good friend and former Member of Parliament for Shama Constituency, Dr Ato Panford.”

“I spoke to the wife, son and a few family members a while ago. Ato was an astute expert in International Trade and Commerce and distinguished himself as an Industrialist with over 25 years in the Private and Public sectors.”
