The high completion rates at the junior high school level have fuelled demand for secondary education. In response, several new public schools have been built, and the infrastructure of already-existing schools has been improved.

The Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement trends show some inequity in the school selection process. The overwhelming preference of students for the few, typically high-performing schools results in overenrollment at these institutions.

Many schools that have made great progress in recent years continue to be unpopular and underenrolled.

We think that this oddity is partially a result of parents and pupils not having access to enough information.

DESCRIPTION

The late Dr. R. P. Baffour, the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology, built the Technology Secondary School, which is now KNUST Senior High School, in February 1961 to provide secondary/technical education for students who would later enroll in the university.

Since the School was directly under the University’s administration, the Vice-Chancellor created an advisory committee to oversee its operations; however, some of the University’s senior lecturers’ wives were responsible for administering it on a daily basis.

VISION

To be the preferred secondary and technical institution for students planning to attend a university.

MISSION

Constantly keep an eye on how our teachers and students are carrying out their study plans in order to attain academic and moral excellence.
