When will the Matric Results 2022 be released?

The Department of Basic Education has announced the release schedule for the 2022 matriculants. Learners are advised to take note of the following important dates:

  • January 19, 2023: The Minister will announce the results of the Class of 2022.
  • January 20, 2023: The statement of results will be available at exam centers/schools.
  • February 3, 2023: The last day to apply for remarking/rechecking of examination scripts.
  • February 8, 2023: The last day to register for the 2023 May/June examinations.
  • March 15, 2023: The last day to register for the 2023 October/November examinations.

1. Check Matric Results Online

To check your Matric Results online, follow these simple steps:

  • Check your results on the Department of Basic Education’s Matric Results Portal – https://www.education.gov.za/MatricResults/ExamResults/tabid/175/Default.aspx
  • Enter your ID Number and Matric Examination Number in the required fields
  • Click on the ‘Search’ button to access your Matric 2022 Results
  • Note: You may need the following information to log in: Exam number, Home Language, Your personal details (name, surname, etc.)
  • The DBE website is zero-rated, which means it can be accessed whether you have data or not.

Check Matric Results via IEB (Independent Examinations Board)

To check your Matric Results via IEB, follow these steps:

  • Go to the IEB Matric Results 2022 Portal via http://www.ieb-online.co.za/asp/login.aspx
  • Enter your Exam Number and Date of Birth in the required fields
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button to access your Matric 2022 / 2023 Results

Note that website traffic will be high on the release date, so expect delayed response times.

 

Check Matric Results via News24 Website

To check your Matric Results on News24 Website, follow these steps:

  • Go to the News24 Matric Results 2022 Portal via https://www.news24.com/news24/matricresults
  • Enter your Matric Examination Number in the required field Select your exam type, either NSC or IEB
  • Click on the ‘Search’ button to access your Matric 2022 Results

2. MatricsMate App

  • Download the MatricsMate app from Google Play Store or Apple Play Store
  • Enter your 13 digit ID number and examination number.
  • You will then be able to view the matric results as soon as they are available.

 

3. Get Gauteng Matric Results Online

You can access your results as soon as they are released through the GPG Matric App on your smartphone or any device with internet access.

 

4. Check at Your High School

You can also obtain your Matric 2022 Results at your High School. Your school will provide you with your results a day after the initial release date, but keep in mind that this is not your official matric certificate. It is simply your results for each subject.

5. Find Matric Results in Newspapers

On the result release date, your results will be published in the National Newspapers including The Rapport, The Argus and The Star. Please keep in mind that it will only state whether or not you passed and with what symbol you passed – B for Bachelors Pass, D for Diploma, etc. This is not your full results.

6. Using Your Cell phone

You have the option to use your own cell phone or borrow someone else’s to receive your exam results. SABC Education and the Department of Basic Education offer an SMS service that enables you to register and receive your results as soon as they become available.

Enroll through SMS

  • Send your exam number to 35658.
  • Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation SMS.
  • Proceed to answer some multiple-choice questions
  • obtain your matric results instantly once they are released.

 

Use the USSD Service

To obtain your matric results, you can use the USSD service by

  • dialing 12035658# and registering.
  • You will then need to answer a few multiple-choice questions
  • provide your ID number.
  • Your results will be sent to you per subject. Be aware that USSD rates apply.

Alternatively, you can use the old-school method of phoning to access your matric results. Keep in mind that many other students will also be calling to obtain their results, so you may need to wait for some time before receiving yours.
