Education is a deliberate activity with specific goals in mind, such as passing on knowledge or developing skills and character traits.

These objectives may include the growth of comprehension, rationality, kindness, and honesty. Several researchers emphasize the importance of critical thinking in distinguishing education from indoctrination.

Some theorists believe that education must result in student improvement, whereas others prefer a value-neutral definition of the term.

In a slightly different sense, education may also refer to the product of this process: the mental states and dispositions possessed by educated people, rather than the process itself.

The Faculty of Education’s philosophy is to support the teaching profession in Ghana by providing students with a strong foundation in subject-specific knowledge and pedagogical abilities in the principles of teaching, learning, evaluating, and assessing pupils.

University of Ghana Bachelor of Education course requirement

Candidates must have passed any three (3) of the elective courses they took in senior high school with a grade of at least C6 in order to be eligible for admission to the University of Ghana’s bachelor of education program.

A candidate should also have earned at least a C6 in three of the following subjects; English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies.

University of Ghana Bachelor of Education Course cut off point

Applicants to the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ghana must have a WASCE aggregate average of 24. Candidates with aggregate more than 24 will not be considered in the admission process.

The University of Ghana’s Education department receives a large number of applicants for the course, making admission to the Bachelor of Education course very competitive. Before applying, candidates should review and take note of the entry requirements.

Is D7 to F9 accepted to study BSc. Education in University of Ghana?

The University of Ghana does not admit students for any bachelor degree, including the Bachelor of Education, with grades of D7, E8, and F9. C6 is the minimum requirement into any bachelor degree course at the University of Ghana

Candidates with D7, E8, and F9 are not eligible to apply for this course unless they pass the WASCE private exam to improve the trailing subjects. Candidates who are 25 years old and above may apply through the matured entrance procedure.
