It is a diverse science since it connects health sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and natural sciences. As pharmaceutical corporations manufacture the majority of medications, professional practice is becoming increasingly clinically oriented.
Pharmacy practice is defined as either community or institutional, depending on the context. Clinical pharmacy is defined as providing direct patient care in a community of institutional pharmacies.
The range of pharmacy professions includes more conventional tasks like pharmaceutical manufacturing and dispensing. Additionally, it contains more up-to-date medical services like clinical services, assessing prescriptions for safety and efficacy, and giving out pharmacological information.
The University of Ghana Doctor of Pharmacy Course Requirements
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or other pharmacy degrees from accredited institutions, together with at least three years of professional experience as a pharmacist, in order to be admitted to the University of Ghana’s Doctor of Pharmacy program. They must also be licensed pharmacists in Ghana.
The minimum grade requirement for WASCE applicants is Grade C6, and they must have credit passes in three elective subjects—Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics—as well as three core topics, English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science. Six academic years will be spent taking the course.
The University of Ghana Doctor of Pharmacy Course Cut-off Point.
The University of Ghana offers a postgraduate program leading to the degree of Doctor of Pharmacy. A bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a comparable pharmacy degree from an accredited university is the minimum requirement.
The cut-off mark for WASCE applicants to the University of Ghana Doctor of Pharmacy programme is an aggregate of 8.
Is D7 to F9 accepted to study for the Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Ghana?
Candidates with D7, E8, and F9 results will be denied admission to any Bachelor course at the University of Ghana, including the Doctor of Pharmacy. Candidates with D7 to F9 results must take the WAEC private test (NOVDEC) to enhance their D7, E8, or F9 subjects.
Because these factors have such a large impact on the admissions process, applicants should be well aware of the entry requirements and the cut-off point before enrolling in the University of Ghana’s medicine program.
