One of the most demanded and well-respected fields of study in universities has always been law. For many people, earning a law degree is the first step toward a career in the legal field.
This is frequently followed by the additional training and education required to become a practicing solicitor or barrister. This this by no means the only justification for studying law in university.
Although law degrees are notoriously difficult, many students find them appealing due to the special mix of personal interest and intellectual stimulation they offer.
Law programs begin with required core courses, like most academic degrees, and eventually offer greater choices to select law topics specific to a particular career route.
Lectures, seminars, group projects, presentations, class discussions, and “mooting sessions”—practical legal training in a courtroom—are all used in the teaching process to help students develop crucial legal skills like research and analysis, public speaking, and argument construction.
The University of Ghana Bachelor of Laws course requirement
The requirement for admission is a Second Class (Lower Division) Degree in any discipline from an accredited university (i.e., one that has been recognized and/or accredited by Ghana’s National Accreditation Board).
Additionally, applicants must have WASSCE/SSSCE/GBCE credit passes with at least grade C6 or D in three core subjects and three electives, or credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and any Science subject at the GCE “O” Level in addition to three “A” Level passes and a pass in General Paper.
For both Ghanaian and international applicants, there will be a non-refundable examination fee of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis Only (GH 500.00) for qualified applicants who have been shortlisted.
The entrance examination is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2023. The admission interview procedure for candidates who pass the entrance exam will take place from Tuesday, July 25, through Friday, July 28, 2023.

Is D7 to F9 accepted to study Bachelor of Laws in University of Ghana?
The University of Ghana’s Bachelor of Law program is a postgraduate degree. A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited institution is required for successful admission. Furthermore, D7, E8, and F9 do not meet the admission requirements for any bachelor program at the University of Ghana.
