The University of Ghana Faculty of Law

The University of Ghana’s School of Law is the leading center for legal education in Ghana, and it continues to set the standard for preparing students for careers in the legal profession.

In the 1958/59 academic year, it was formed as a department of the Faculty of Social Studies, then as a Faculty in 1960/61, and finally as a full-fledged school in the 2014/15 academic year.

The School of Law provides a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program for applicants with a Senior High School diploma or an excellent first degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Qualifications to the University of Ghana School of Law

The following qualifications are acceptable for admission:

  • SSSCE/WASSSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificates)
  • Baccalaureate (French) (French)
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB)
  • Cambridge GCE ‘A’ and ‘O’ Levels
  • A Levels and GCSEs
  • Exams for American High School – Grade 12
  • Additional credentials that are equivalent to the WASSSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels).

note that all admissions will be at the Level 100 level.

Are D7, E8 and F9 accepted for the University of ghana law programmes? 

D7 is a pass, according to WAEC Result Interpretation. Furthermore, the University of Ghana does not consider D7,E8 and F9 as a prerequisite for admission to undergraduate programs.

Recall that the lowest or worst grade you may receive to get into Legon is C6. In this opinion, C6 is a credit, whereas D7 is merely a pass.
