By | 17 June 2023

The provisional results of candidates who sat for the Basic Education Examination Certificate (BECE) have been released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC). The next step after release of results is school placements for all students who were successful in the examinations.

A total number of 531,707 candidates sat for the exams and are expecting to be placed in various senior high schools across the nation.

During an interview with Roselyn Felli on Prime Morning, the Ministry of Education’s public relations officer, Kwasi Kwarteng, made it known that school placement for BECE graduates will be made available before the end of February 2023.

To ensure that the release of the placement is done as quickly as possible, the Ministry of Education is working diligently. The placements ought to be ready within the next few weeks as claimed by Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng.

He added, “The date has not been agreed upon, so I can’t be explicit, but it’s definitely going to be this February”.

He has advised parents to begin making plans for the acquisition of food supplies and other necessities for their children.

He also issued a warning on behalf of the Ministry to parents and BECE candidates warning them not to pay any money to anyone to get them into the schools they want.

Ghana Education Service (GES) have also come forward with a press statement on their social media platforms announcing that candidates will start receiving their school placements soon as preparations for the release of the placements are underway.

Conclusion

Parents of candidates who have received their results can begin preparations for sending their wards to Senior High School. They can start with buying the basics for their wards so that when the school placements are released, they would not be caught unprepared.
