Qualification Requirements NDLEA Recruitment 2023

Requirements for Height in NDLEA Recruitment

In order to apply for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recruitment, there are certain height requirements that applicants must meet.

  • For male candidates, the minimum height requirement is 1.65 meters (5 feet 5 inches).
  • For female candidates, the minimum height requirement is 1.60 meters (5 feet 3 inches).

Available Positions at NDLEA for Recruitment 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is currently looking to recruit qualified candidates for various full-time positions in different cadres. The available positions are as follows:

  1. SUPERINTENDENT CADRE (General Duties or Specialists)

Applicants must possess a First Degree/HND from a recognized institution of learning and must have completed their NYSC or possess an Exemption Certificate. Successful completion of the training program will grant the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics II CONPASS (08) or Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics I (CONPASS 9) to the selected candidates. Applicants with LL.B, BL, B.Eng (with COREN), B.Pharm, or equivalent are eligible for Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics I (CONPASS 9). MBBS or DVM holders are eligible for Deputy Superintendent of Narcotics (CONPASS 10).

  1. NARCOTIC AGENT CADRE

Candidates interested in this cadre can apply for Chief Narcotic Agent (CONPASS 07), Senior Narcotic Agent (CONPASS 06), or Narcotic Agent (CONPASS 05). The requirements vary for each position. Applicants for Chief Narcotic Agent must possess a Nigerian Certificate of Education or its equivalent. Registered Nurses and Midwives, Pharmacy Technicians, Lab Technicians, Dental Technicians, or equivalent from a recognized institution of learning are eligible for this position. Applicants for Senior Narcotic Agent must have obtained a National Diploma (ND) or equivalent from a recognized institution of learning. For Narcotic Agent, applicants must have a minimum of five credits in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB including English and Mathematics.

  1. NARCOTIC ASSISTANT CADRE

The Narcotic Assistant Cadre comprises Narcotic Assistant I (CONPASS 04) and Narcotic Assistant II (CONPASS 03). To apply for Narcotic Assistant I, candidates must possess a minimum of four credits in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB, including Mathematics or English Language. For Narcotic Assistant II, applicants must have a minimum of three credits in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB, including Mathematics or English Language. Candidates interested in positions such as Artisan, Mechanic, Driver, Cleaner/Gardener, etc., must provide evidence of completion of secondary school or Trade Test Grade II or III.

NDLEA Screening and Examination

After selection, successful candidates will be asked to complete additional screening forms, and will be subjected to periodic drug testing throughout their tenure with the Agency.

2023 Salary Structure for NDLEA Recruitment

  • For B.Sc holders, Grade Level 8 Step 1 earns an estimated ₦1,004,805 annually
  • Grade Level 8 Step 2 earns around ₦1,019,357 with all the applicable allowances included. This amounts to a monthly salary of ₦83,733.
  • For HND holders placed on Grade Level 7 Step 1, the estimated annual salary is ₦573,287, with a monthly income of ₦44,773. This includes the CONPASS and Rent Allowance, which amounts to ₦483,014 and ₦92,273.9, respectively.
