MP for Bibiani cut-sod for building an e-learning center

Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani Anhuyasu Bekoye Constituency, Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng, broke ground for the construction of a state-of-the-art e-learning facility for the Anhuyasu community.

The construction of the e-learning centre, which will be funded by Ghana National Gas Company Limited, when completed, will include two apartments, one for e-learning and the other for a library, a librarian’s office and restrooms, among others.

At the ground-breaking ceremony in Sefwi-Anhwianso, the MP noted that technology cannot be overlooked in the education system in the 21st century, hence the decision to establish the facility.

Mr. Obeng Boateng encouraged youth, especially students, to take a keen interest in acquiring ICT skills to participate in e-commerce and to choose career paths that would make them globally competitive in the digital space.

He said the initiative aims to provide an enabling environment for e-learning and a research center for the people of Safeway Anhuyasu and its neighboring communities.

The MP expressed his gratitude to the management and staff of Ghana National Gas Company Limited for accepting to bear the full cost of the project.

Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng explained that the economic difficulties the country was facing were the result of the global economic downturn, adding that the problems were not limited to Ghana only.

He noted that other countries, particularly West African countries, are also suffering from similar economic problems.

In this regard, Mr. Obeng Boateng urged the voters to exercise restraint and restore confidence in the government for a speedy solution to the problem.

The member of the House of Representatives praised his achievements and promised to hand over all projects to the Municipal Council for oversight and supervision.

He commended the government for allocating a fair share of the national pie to the municipality of Bibiani Anhuaso Picoa.

List the mega projects in the municipality such as the College of Health Sciences, STEM School, UMaT Campus, Roads, and Comprehensive School Projects.

Mr. Obeng Boateng mentioned the construction of Adupri Tanoso Road, Pataboso-Kunkumso Road, Awasu Town Roads and water projects as some of the ongoing projects within the municipality.

Announced that the Coastal Development Authority (CODA) has awarded 3 semester credits to Anhwiaso M/A JHS and set up a similar e-learning facility under the auspices of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to be based in Kojina/Suberi Nkwanta.

Mr. Joseph Armah Nyamike, Community Relations Officer (CRO) of Ghana National Gas Limited, emphasized the company’s readiness to support education, health and human development projects.

He confirmed the availability of funds for the project, which he indicated would be completed on schedule.

Mr. John Koah, Acting Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bibiani-Anhoyaso-Pkwai who represented the Provincial Minister for the Northwest, Mr. Richard Obeng Ibah, thanked the company for the project and advised the students to take advantage of the golden opportunity to develop themselves and the region as a whole.

The project is being undertaken by WNC Mining / Engineering Limited and is expected to be completed within eight months.

Nana Coffee AVL, Chairman of Subri Nkwa, who presided over, commended the MP for his outstanding performance during his short tenure in office and commended Ghana National Gas Limited for managing such an educational edifice within the municipality.
