Applications for the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) Scholarship are now open. The application process is open to students from underdeveloped nations. The scholarships will provide money to meet all necessary costs.
Scholarship Description
For extremely talented applicants who have been approved for study with the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) Scholarship, full scholarships are available.
International organizations, including GRIPS, the Japanese government (MEXT), and other governments are funding these scholarships. Based on the prerequisites imposed by the scholarship providers, GRIPS will choose the specific scholarship (see Scholarship Eligibility and Details chart).
Please be aware that there are only a few scholarships available and that they are awarded on a competitive basis.
Award Worth
The scholarship program will be completely supported for the winner.
Level and Field of Study
Public policy, public finance, macroeconomic policy, economics, planning, and public policy, disaster management policy, maritime safety and security policy, and Japanese and culture are all areas of study for master’s and Doctoral degrees.

Qualifications and Conditions
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in order to apply to 5-year Ph.D. programs and Masters programs. Applicants must hold a Masters degree or its equivalent in order to apply to 3-year Ph.D. programs.
