Fully Funded FirstRand Oxford African Studies Scholarship

Outstanding South African students pursuing an MSc in African Studies at the University of Oxford in the UK are eligible for the FirstRand Oxford African Studies Scholarship. The recipients will be fully funded for the whole year of the program. Key in before the deadline if you’re interested in applying.

FirstRand searches for the brightest individuals who will profit from the program and give back to their home country when they return in collaboration with Oxford School of Global and Regional Studies.

The three-term MSc in African Studies program serves as both a standalone, multidisciplinary introduction to current discussions about Africa and a training ground for doctorate work in the field.

The FirstRand Scholarships at Oxford for African Students offer:

The School of Global and Area Studies at the University of Oxford will provide full funding for one year of study for students pursuing an MSc.

The selected individual will be provided housing at Wadham College.

Level and Subjects Studied

There is a chance to earn an MSc in African Studies.

The University of Oxford in the UK will host the scholarship program.

Candidates should be able to show that they have the potential to change people’s lives as well as academic excellence, leadership potential, and community involvement.

Applicants must be enrolled in the relevant course full-time.

Applicants must be prepared to return home after graduation and give back to their nation.

Application Procedure

In parallel with the FirstRand international postgraduate scholarship program, FirstRand will manage the interviewing and selection process for the Oxford Scholarships for African Students.

For admission to the University of Oxford’s MSc in African Studies program, candidates must apply and be accepted.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, January 20, 2023, at 12:00 UK time.
