The long-awaited BECE school placement 2023 for graduates who took the October 2022 examination is set to be released by the Ministry of Education. 1. When will the 2023 school placement be out?

As of now, the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ghana Education Service (GES) have not officially announced the specific date for the release of the BECE school placement results. However, the MoE is expected to provide more information about the school placement from Monday, February 13th, 2023.

Based on projections, the school placement results are anticipated to be released on February 13th, 2023, and students are expected to report to school by February 20th, 2023. If there are any further updates, we will provide them on our social media channels.

2. Is the placement portal opened?

As of the time of writing, we have checked the school placement portal and can confirm that it is currently inaccessible. This is likely due to the ongoing work being done to prepare for the release of the school placement results. It is common practice for the portal to be temporarily taken down during this period.

3. How to check 2022/2023 school placement on the phone

SHS placement can only be checked when it is uploaded on the site https://cssps.gov.gh.

Follow the steps below to access placement when it is uploaded;

  1. Visit the placement portal https://cssps.gov.gh/
  2. Provide your required data (Index Number) which should end with 22. The 22 represents the year in which you sat for the BECE.
  3. Input the eVoucher on your placement checker
  4. Enter the five(5) digit PIN on your placement checker
  5. Click submit and wait for the placement to load.

4. How to buy the 2023 school placement checker with MoMo

To buy the placement checker using MoMo

  1. Dial *170#
  2. Select option 2. Momo pay
  3. Select option 2. Pay Bills
  4. Select option 5. General Payment
  5. Enter the the payment code: MONlcliq
  6. Enter reference as: SHS
  7. Enter amount as: 12.00
  8. SMS would be sent to you with details needed to check your placement.

5. Can I use the Self-Placement Module if I am not placed?

It is possible to do self-placement for the BECE school placement, but there are certain conditions that need to be met. If a student has obtained the pass mark or raw score but missed all six choices, they are eligible to do self-placement. However, it’s important to note that the option to do self-placement will only be available if the system allows it.

6. Can I change the school I am automatically placed in?

No, It is important for students to know that they cannot make changes to the school they have been automatically placed in. Additionally, students who selected the cluster option may be placed in schools that they did not specifically choose but are in the same category as the schools they selected.

7. Can I change the Programme I am offered after I enroll in the school?

No, It is important to note that changing the programmes selected during school selection is not permitted by the MoE and GES.
