Discussions Between Foreign Affairs Minister and Russian Ambassador.
Madam Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, recently had a constructive meeting with Mr Sergei Berdnikov, the Russian Ambassador to Ghana in Accra, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
During the meeting, Madam Ayorkor Botchwey affirmed Ghana’s unwavering commitment to maintaining strong and strategic bilateral relations with Russia.
She emphasized Ghana’s dedication to sustaining international peace and security through diplomatic resolution of conflicts and the promotion of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries based on Ghana’s foreign policy and the principles of international law. This position on the Russia-Ukraine conflict was also discussed during the meeting.
The statement revealed that the two officials discussed the need for peace and improved security in the Sahel and coastal West Africa. Both parties also called for transparency in their dealings with each other.
