Complete list of students and schools whose 2022 WASSCE results were withheld by WAEC.

The West African Examination Council has started an investigation into several schools’ and students’ 2022 WASSCE results.

Candidates who participated in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates, 2022 but whose results were withheld owing to suspicions of involvement in examination irregularities were invited to the WAEC Regional Offices where they took the test.

The purpose of the invitation was to help the Council wrap up its inquiries into the alleged anomalies. Applicants who didn’t show up at the regional office for the investigation will be disqualified when the results are finally decided.

The names of all the students whose results were withheld in full or simply on a few papers are included below, along with a complete list of all the schools.

After the announcement of the preliminary 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination results by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) (WASSCE).

Candidates who so choose may access their results through the Council’s website, www.waecgh.org, which housed the results online.

A total of 422,883 candidates from 977 schools, including 203,753 men and 219,130 women, took the test.

This number is 5.25 per cent less than the 446,352 entry number for 2021. 2,818 (0.6796) of the candidates who enrolled for the exam were not present for it.

According to WAEC data, throughout a three-year period, the candidates performed better in social studies (2020-2022).

On the other hand, candidates’ performance over the course of the three years varied in the areas of English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science (2020-2022).

Rejected Results

3,845 candidates’ subject results were thrown out for bringing outside material into the testing room.

518 candidates had their complete scores thrown out for bringing their phones into the exam room.

A total of 117 candidates’ results have also been withheld in their entirety while investigations into alleged impersonation incidents discovered during the exam are ongoing.

In several topics, the essays of some other candidates from 179 schools are being examined for any indications of possible conspiracy.
