The Cocoa Processing Company (CPC), which manufactures the golden tree brand of cocoa products, has assured Ghanaians that the company has enough chocolate on hand for all occasions, including National Chocolate Day.
According to Nana Agyemang Ansong, the CPC Sales and Marketing Manager, speaking to the Ghana News Agency, the CPC has already put about 3,500 tonnes of chocolate on the market due to the annual increase in demand.
He stated that the plan was to increase cocoa consumption and promote its benefits, particularly on Valentine’s Day, also known as Chocolate Day, to make it a big event for Africa, with Ghana becoming the Swiss of Africa.
Concerning the advantages, he stated that cocoa contained antioxidants that promoted cardiovascular and dental health, as well as general well-being.
Mr Ansong claimed that cocoa had anti-ageing properties, as well as the ability to prevent cancer, aid in blood circulation, and reduce blood pressure and menstrual cramps, while also increasing breast milk production in lactating mothers.
