Arrest of Three Suspects in Connection to the Murder of a Final Year Student in LAUTECH by the Police.
Three suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the murders of Rachel Opadele, a final-year student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and Olugbenga Owolabi, a hotelier based in the United States.
The investigation into their deaths had been ongoing for three months, and the Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the arrests on Thursday, 22nd December 2022. While Owolabi’s body was flown back to the US for burial, Opadele has already been laid to rest.
It is worth noting that on 8th August, a security team made up of the Joint Security Task Force in Oyo State and Western Security Network (Amotekun) had conducted a search for the killers in the Abaa forests in Surulere Local Government Area, Oyo.
