General Requirements
Candidates must have received their diploma no later than September 2022.
Candidates must be citizens or residents of a Sub-Saharan African nation. Those who are now live outside of this area only for educational purposes may still apply.
Candidates must present evidence of their community leadership and service history.
Candidates may demonstrate their financial situation to demonstrate that they lack the resources to pursue higher education in their own country or abroad.
Candidates must desire to enroll in one of the University of Edinburgh’s approved degree programs.
Candidates must meet academic requirements to be admitted to the degree program of their choosing.
Candidates should not be enrolled at another university while on scholarship, and they should not have previously finished a postgraduate degree.

Prerequisites for online, distance masters students
Get one of the 60 Scholars from the Edinburgh MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program’s participating institutions’ choice of a variety of online distance master’s degrees.

Visit the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program Application Portal, which is recommended for all applicants.
