The Federal Government Bilateral Education Scholarship Award 2023–2024 Application Program’s goal is to provide undergraduate applicants who are interested in the program with financial support for their education.

All potential applicants should make sure they have the necessary prerequisites before applying online. Undergraduate and graduate students who meet the minimum requirements can apply for a Federal Bilateral Education Agreement BEA Scholarship Award, which is willing to support applicants (UG and PG).

General Eligibility for FSB

Here are the prerequisites for applying as an undergraduate:

A minimum of five (5) Distinctions (As and Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificate, WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects pertinent to their fields of study, including English Language and Mathematics, are required of all applicants for undergraduate degree programs.

All other applicants (undergraduate, higher-level diploma, and non-degree) must be enrolled full-time in their second or later year at a Federal or State University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic, or College of Education.

All undergraduate scholarship applicants, including those who are physically challenged, must have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 4.0 on a scale of 1 to 5 or its equivalents, or 5.0 on a scale of 1 to 7.

Certificates must be no older than two (2) years (2017 & 2018).
The age range is between 18 and 20. 

How to Apply for the 2023–2024 Federal Government Scholarship Program

  1. First, go to https://chevening.smartsimpleuk.com/s Login.jsp to the UK Chevening Scholarships Application Portal.
  2. then enter your nation and indicate whether you should apply for a fellowship or a scholarship.
  3. Continue by clicking “Apply Now”
    You will be directed to a page where you must register or log in if you already have an account.
  4. All Chevening applicants must submit their transcripts, letters of recommendation, and one unconditional offer from a UK university.
  5. The timeline for the Chevening application contains the due dates for these necessary documents. Update your application by clicking the button.

Materials for Screening and Interviews for the FSB Program

  1. two sets of photocopied transcripts and letters of recommendation from previous schools attended, along with the originals for verification For undergraduate applicants, only ONE certificate—the May/June WAEC—is accepted
  2. two copies of the National Population Commission’s birth certificate
    properly signed, date-stamped, and signed State of Origin/LGA certificate
  3. a set of four (4) passport-sized, colored photos with a white background
  4. Applicants for postgraduate studies will need to submit academic transcripts as well as certificates of discharge from the NYSC or exemption.
