These scholarships have been made possible by the generous support of Standard Bank of South Africa PLC. They aim to assist academically talented students who lack the financial means to pursue further studies of this nature. The selected candidates will be required to demonstrate exceptional academic merit combined with financial need.

Applicants must be residents of one of Standard Bank’s African presence countries, with a preference given to residents of South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique, and South Sudan.

Benefits of the Standard Bank Africa Chairman’s Scholarship

Each of the three scholarships will cover the full cost of tuition fees for the eligible programs and provide a stipend to cover living expenses.

Application Process

Successful applicants will receive email notifications throughout May, June, and July 2023. To ensure you receive these emails, please add our domain name – lse.ac.uk – to your safe sender’s list and regularly check your junk/spam folders.

How to Apply

To apply for this scholarship, along with other LSE scholarships that follow the same application process, you must:

  1. Apply for admission to study at LSE (see How to apply).
  2. Complete and submit the LSE Graduate Financial Support Application, which includes Section G: Personal Statement. You can access the application via the Graduate Application Tracker.
  3. Receive an offer of admission (conditional or unconditional).
