Scholarship Description

The Commonwealth Scholarships Commission offers three master’s degree programs, one of which is the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships for Master’s Studies program.

The UK government’s scholarship program is run by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), with a focus on goals for international development.

The CSC’s work combines sustainable development with the UK national interest and creates opportunities for global partnerships and collaboration by attracting people from all backgrounds with exceptional talent and discernible potential and assisting them in becoming leaders and innovators upon returning to their home countries.

The goal of the Commonwealth Scholarship program is to assist gifted and driven individuals in gaining access to the education and training necessary for sustainable development that is unavailable in their home countries.

eligibility requirements

Candidates who want to be considered for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship should:

being a citizen of, or having received refugee status from, a Commonwealth nation that qualifies, or being a British Protected Person.

being a permanent resident of a Commonwealth developing nation.

possess a first degree with a minimum upper second class (2:1 standard). In some circumstances, a lower degree and sufficient relevant experience may be taken into account.

be unable to pay for the program’s tuition without a scholarship.

Be talented people with the ability to influence change.

Application Methodology

How to Apply: Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship applications are accepted through the online application system.

In addition to applying for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship through the CSC’s online application system, candidates must apply for and be admitted to an approved Master’s course at a participating UK university.

Candidates may apply to more than one course and/or university.

Candidates are encouraged to complete and submit their Commonwealth Distance Learning application.

Scholarship applications should be submitted as soon as possible because the CSC’s online application system will be extremely busy in the days leading up to the application deadline.

Applications for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships must include the following supporting documentation, which must be uploaded along with the application:

Evidence that the applicant is a citizen of or has refugee status in a Commonwealth country: a copy of a valid passport (or national ID card) with a photo, date of birth, and country of citizenship.

Full transcripts of all higher education qualifications, including current transcripts for any courses being studied, with certified translations if not in English.

References from at least two individuals, on institutional letterhead or in an email with the sender’s details clearly visible.
