Salary and Allowances for NPC Adhoc Employees in 2023

Allowances and Base Salary for NPC Adhoc Personnel

The National Population Commission (NPC) has announced the salary and allowance structure for its ad hoc staff who will be involved in the 2023 Population and Housing Census. There are two types of compensation: allowances and base salary.

Allowances:

According to Mrs. Evelyn Arinola Olanipekun, Director of Census Department, the NPC adhoc staff will receive three types of allowances:

Feeding Allowance:

  • N2,000 per day x 13 days for Specialized Workforce (SWF) (3 days of SWF and 10 days of state training).
  • States that did not observe the first three days are exempted).
  • State Facilitators: N2,000 per person, per day, for ten days. N20,000 is the total amount.
  • Allowance for transportation: N20,000 per person

Training Allowance:

  • N15,000 per day x 13 (SWF) and 10 (state facilitator)
  • N10,000 per day x 13 (SWF) and 10 (state facilitator) (state facilitator)
  • For all categories, payment will be made twice:
  • Feeding and transportation: N46,000 (SWF), N40,000 (state facilitators)
  • Trainer (SWF): N195,000; trainee: N130,000; state trainers (facilitators): N150, 000; trainees: 100,000.

Other groups like enumerators and supervisors would also be eligible for the above allowances, but with a smaller number of training days and a smaller payment.

The overall compensation for specialized labor, facilitators, enumerators, supervisors, and other census workers typically ranges from N50,000 to N100,000.

Primary Salary

After the census exercise is over, the NPC ad hoc workers will get their main income. Depending on the position, the typical basic or main remuneration for each census functionary ranges from N50,000 to N250,000.

NPC Adhoc Staff Wages and Benefits

For the 2023 Population and Housing Census, the NPC adhoc workers will get the following compensation:

  • N150,000 to N300,000 for facilitators
  • N140,001 to N280,000 for a field coordinator
  • Assistants/Rovers in Quality Assurance: between N130,000 and N280,000
  • $130,000 to $230,000 for a supervisor
  • Counting range: N100,000–N220,000
  • Officer of Monitoring and Evaluation: 150,000 to 300,000 Naira

Overall, the NPC has taken steps to ensure that its ad hoc workers will get just compensation for their contributions to the census exercise.
