Petroleum Technology Development Fund: Fully Funded Scholarship program for Postgraduate Studies

The Overseas Scholarship Plan was created for each academic session by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), a federal government institution in Nigeria with the responsibility of building indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology to satisfy the needs of the oil and gas industry.

The program was created to give applicants the chance to take use of a diverse body of knowledge and the resources provided by top schools throughout the world.

In accordance with it, candidates are asked to submit applications via PTDF to certain programs at partner institutions.

Award Benefits

The following are provided through the scholarship program:

  1. providing airline tickets
  2. reimbursement for health insurance
  3. payment of bench fees and tuition (where applicable)
  4. the cost of lodging
  5. provision of living expense allowances

Eligibility Requirements

The following requirements must be satisfied by applicants in order to be eligible for the PTDF Overseas Scholarship:

  1. Applications should only be submitted to PTDF partner universities in Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, where it believes the high standards of the scholarship may be upheld and the goals of the program can be best met. Through the scholarship portal, a complete list of sponsored courses and an application gateway are provided.
  2. Candidates must have finished the required National Youth Service (NYSC).
  3. Candidates must be proficient with computers.
  4. Before applying for the scholarship, applicants must have a National Identification Number (NIN), and verification is required (NIMC verification fees apply).

Required Documents

It is recommended that applicants scan and upload the following documents to their online application forms:

  1. Statement of Outcome or First Degree Certificate, NYSC Discharge Certificate
  2. Results from WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO exams as well as PINs on application forms that let PTDF examine O’level results on the pertinent webpage.
  3. A current passport photo
  4. Letter of Identification from Local Government
  5. Certificate of Master’s Degree (PhD Applicants only)
  6. proof of affiliation with professional organizations
  7. March 24 is the submission deadline.
