Hatayspor football player Christian Atsu was discovered beneath the rubble of a house in the Antakya region that had been severely damaged by the earthquakes with their epicentre at Kahramanmaraş.
Atsu’s manager, Murat Uzunmehmet, announced the football player from Ghana had passed away.
“Christian Atsu was discovered and tragically died,” his management stated in a statement.

He was visiting his family.
The Ghanaian football player would not have been imprisoned in the earthquake, according to Hatayspor Administrative Manager Fatih Ilek, who also said:
“Christian Atsu told the instructor that he wanted extra time before the game against Gaziantep FK before the earthquake. “Am I allowed to depart if I find a team?” He declared.
Volkan Hodja agreed to this plan as well. He didn’t take any time during the game, but he had a ticket after the Kasmpaşa game. He was on his way to another nation to visit his family.
