Isaac Dogboe Prepares for a Challenging Fight against Ramirez on 1st April

Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe (24-2, 15 KOs), the former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Bantamweight champion, has acknowledged that his upcoming opponent, Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramirez Carazzana (11-1, 7KOs), would be a challenging adversary as they vie for the WBO featherweight title.

Following reigning champion Emanuel Navarrete’s move up to super featherweight to fight Liam Wilson on February 3, 2022, the WBO featherweight title became vacant. The WBO has since ordered a bout between Dogboe and Ramirez on April 1, 2023, for the vacant title, with the location yet to be decided.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Dogboe acknowledged that Ramirez is one of the top up-and-coming boxers in the world. However, he remained optimistic about the outcome, as he aims to become a two-time world champion.

“At this level, everyone is sharp and sleek, and I see it as a battle between kings. He is a good fighter with two Olympic medals, and his career is on the rise. He has been in some good fights as well. We have done our homework well; we know what we are up against, and come April 1st, we would represent very well and make our country proud,” Dogboe said.

He also noted that boxing has no guarantees and that he would train hard to achieve his mission of becoming a two-time world champion. If he emerges victorious on 1st April, 2023, he expressed an openness to unification in the near future.
