Foreign applicants to the university’s Vocational Education and Training (VET), undergraduate, or postgraduate programs are eligible for the Victoria University International Scholarships.

The scholarship amounts vary depending on the type of study and degree of study requested. No application is necessary.

The Victoria University International Scholarships for study abroad in Australia honor and reward beginning international students’ accomplishments.

The Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, so applicants must have grades higher than those needed to be admitted at VU.

Award Worth

  • $700 per semester for vocational education and training (VET). The scholarship can be used to offset up to A$3000 of the cost of a two-year VET degree.
  • 3000 Australian dollars for the first two study periods. The Scholarship can be used to pay up to A$12,000 in tuition for a four-year undergraduate degree.
  • Postgraduate: $3000 for the first two study terms of coursework. The scholarship can be used to pay up to 6000 Australian dollars in tuition for a two-year postgraduate (coursework) degree.

Qualifications and Conditions

The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for international scholarships from Victoria University to study in Australia:

  • To be eligible for the scholarship in consecutive semesters, the VET applicants from China, Malaysia, and Vietnam must enroll in a full-time program each semester and successfully complete all courses they try.
  • A full-time study load of 48 credit points in each study period is required of undergraduate applicants from Cambodia, China, Mauritius, the Philippines, and Vietnam. They must also maintain a 60 Weighted Average Mark (WAM) over the two previous study periods.
  • Australian, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mauritius, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnamese applicants must be enrolled in a full-time study load (48 credit points per study period) and maintain a 60 Weighted Average Mark (WAM) over the two previous study periods in order to be considered.

Application Method

The Victoria University International Scholarships for study abroad in Australia do not require an application.

Students who apply for a qualification that qualifies are automatically evaluated. The scholarship information will appear in your final Letter of Offer if you are chosen for it.
