International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Overview

The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) is a worldwide federation of neuroscience organizations that was founded in 1961 with the goal of advancing and backing neuroscience across the globe through various activities such as training, teaching, research, outreach and engagement, and the publication of its two journals, Neuroscience and IBRO Reports. IBRO’s Governing Council is made up of more than 90 international, regional, and national scientific organizations, which work in conjunction with the IBRO Executive Committee.

The IBRO World Congress Travel Grants offer several benefits which vary by region. For Africa, the grant is 2,000 EUR. For Asia-Pacific and Latin America, the grant is 1,800 EUR. For Pan-Europe and US/Canada, the grant is 900 EUR and 1,800 EUR, respectively.

Qualification Requirements for IBRO World Congress Travel Grants

To qualify for the IBRO World Congress Travel Grants, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You should be a PhD student, postdoctoral researcher, or principal investigator.
  • You must have submitted an abstract as the first author for a presentation that will take place on-site.
  • At least one reference is necessary to be eligible for the grant, but having two references is recommended.

After completing the application, an email will be sent to the individuals you designated to support your application, one of whom must be your current supervisor.

They will be asked to submit their support electronically. Ensure that you have obtained their consent beforehand, that the email address is accurate, and that you apply early enough to allow them sufficient time to submit their support electronically before the deadline.

The application deadline is 28th March, 2023

Note that: The application for IBRO World Congress Travel Grants becomes available concurrently with abstract submission, and you will need to indicate your abstract submission number on the travel grant application form. After the recipient attends the Congress and provides their attendance certificate to the IBRO Secretariat via email, the grants will be disbursed via bank transfer.
