How to Apply for NSFAS 2023–2024 Online

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, NSFAS Online Application period is from September 28, 2022 to January 31, 2023 for the academic year 2023-2024.

Applicants who would want financial assistance for their university or college studies must visit the 2023 NSFAS Application  portal at my.nsfas.org.za and complete an online application before the closing date or deadline.

For 2023, late applications will not be accepted by NSFAS. Kindly visit NSFAS official site,  www.nsfas.org.za for more information on how to apply.

How to Apply for NSFAS 2023-2024 Online

Now, the NSFAS Online Application is simple, straightforward, and precise. All current NSFAS recipients must create an account on the new platform. Follow the guidelines below carefully to apply for the 2023/2024.

  • Visit the NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za.
  • Select the my NSFAS tab from the top right menu of the page.
  • At my.nsfas.org.za, the Application window appears.
  • Then, with your email address, ID number, and cellphone number, create a new NSFAS account.
  • Then, for the application, use your NSFAS account information.
  • Select the “Apply” tab.
  • Fill in the blanks with the necessary information.
  • Upload the required documents
  • Confirm that the information and documents you uploaded are correct.
  • Then, press the “Submit” button to submit your application for review.

The application will then be submitted after the applicant clicks on  “submit” .

Required Document for NSFAS Application 2023/2024

For the 2023/2024 academic year, all applicants must submit the following supporting documents with their NSFAS online application.

  • You must have your own phone number as well as an email address.
  • ID copy or birth certificate ID copy of parents, guardians, or spouse (If applicable).
  • Your proof of income or a year’s worth of IRP5 (if applicable).
  • Proof of income from your parents, guardians, or spouse.
  • If you are an SASSA grant recipient, you will not be required to provide proof of income.
  • A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form must be submitted by the person with the disability.
  • A Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form must be completed and signed by the Department of Social Development.
