How to Apply For NJFP Volunteer Mentor

The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with support from the European Union, is inviting interested individuals to apply for the Volunteer Mentor Coach Program.

The NJFP aims to address the growing issue of youth unemployment in Nigeria by connecting talented graduates with local job opportunities that align with their expertise. Through this program, participants will gain practical knowledge, relevant skills, and a fully paid twelve-month placement in private or public sector organizations across the country.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about making a lasting impact on the lives of young people and align with our core values and competencies. If you meet these criteria, we invite you to join us as a coach or mentor!

Application Screening Criteria

  1. Experience: We value a track record of success in your field, particularly in working with young people, such as management trainees, graduate programs, interns, or youth interventions.
  2. Coaching & Mentorship Style: We are looking for coaches and mentors who employ a skills transfer approach that combines directive, supportive, and collaborative methods.
  3. Qualifications and Certifications: Relevant qualifications and certifications in coaching and mentorship will be considered an asset.
  4. Communication Skills: Effective communication, especially in a digital age, is essential. We seek coaches and mentors who can provide clear and concise guidance and feedback to groups.
  5. Availability and Accessibility: Coaches and mentors should be willing to allocate time from their schedule to be available and accessible.

Remuneration

Please note that this is a voluntary, not-for-profit program. Coaches and mentors will offer their services without financial remuneration. You will be expected to devote 1-3 hours per month to engage with your assigned Fellows on a quarterly basis.

Benefits of Being a Coach/Mentor

a. Certificate of Support and Accomplishment: You will receive a certificate recognizing your role as a coach/mentor from the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme.

b. Profile Retention: Your profile will be added to the NJFP Mentors and Coaches database, connecting you to future relevant opportunities.

c. Social Responsibility Recognition: NJFP will highlight your services and support, enhancing your individual social responsibility profile.
